Common questions

Does Billpal connect to my bank or pay my bills? No. Billpal is a planner. It doesn't connect to your bank or move money, so marking a bill paid only records it in Billpal.

What does Left mean? Your paycheck minus every bill assigned to it, paid or not. It's an estimate from what you enter, not your bank balance.

Reminders aren't arriving. Make sure notifications are on for Billpal in the iOS Settings app, and check the reminder time in Billpal › Settings › Reminders. A Focus can hold notifications back. Reminders depend on iOS to arrive, so keep an eye on due dates in the app too.

An autopay bill shows as paid, but the payment failed. Billpal marks autopay paid on the due date without checking with your bank. Open the bill and mark it unpaid, and Billpal won't mark that date paid again. If the amount changes from month to month, edit the bill and turn on Amount varies: Billpal then asks what was charged instead.

Moving to a new iPhone. Quick Start and iCloud Backup bring Billpal's data along with everything else. You can also save a file with Settings › Data › Back Up Data, then choose Restore from Backup on the new iPhone's welcome screen.

Unlocking Billpal. The Face ID lock uses your iPhone's Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode. To turn it off, go to Settings › Privacy.

Deleting your data. Delete bills in the app, or delete Billpal from your iPhone to remove all of its data. Backup files you saved stay where you put them.
